What I do

I offer individual counselling/therapy to young people, adults, couples and families. I integrate elements of different counselling theories and approaches, which allows me to tailor the help and support I can give you to your own personal needs.

I use an integrative approach to therapy, which means that I draw from approaches such as Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Therapy and Mindfulness.

I can help you to make sense of your thoughts, feelings and emotions, which can enable you to gain greater self-awareness, insight and understanding of yourself and your life. You might explore underlying causes of distress,  identify unhelpful patterns of behaviour and consider ways of facilitating choice or change.

Issues I work with

I work with people from all walks of life and have experience in helping with issues such as:

  • anxiety & stress
  • relationship problems
  • depression
  • difficulties at work and with studies
  • low self-esteem, lack of confidence & negative self-image
  • adjustments to life changes and transitions
  • self-harm
  • dependency and addiction
  • borderline personality disorder
  • eating disorders
  • cultural adjustments
  • abuse (emotional)
  • trauma
  • learning difficulties
  • young people’s issues
  • Asperger syndrome and high functioning autism

If for some reason I am unable to help you with your issues or we realise that counselling and therapy is not the best way forward, I will be able to direct you to someone who can help or signpost you to some local organisations which you might find helpful.
